How to Set Up Your Gemini API Key
Aivo's AI meeting minutes require a Google Gemini API key.
It's free to get and takes about 2 minutes to set up.
Open Google AI Studio
Go to aistudio.google.com/apikey in your browser.
Sign in with your Google account.
Create an API Key
Click the "Create API Key" button.
If prompted, select an existing Google Cloud project or create a new one.
Copy Your API Key
Your API key will be generated. Click the copy icon to copy it to your clipboard.
Never share this key with anyone.
Open Aivo Settings
Open the Aivo app and tap the "More" tab at the bottom right, then tap "Settings".
Scroll to the "Google API Key" section.
Paste and Save
Paste your API key into the input field.
Tap "Save" to securely store the key on your device.
You're All Set
A green checkmark confirms your key is saved.
AI meeting minutes will now be generated automatically after every recording.
Good to Know
- Your API key is stored only on your device (Keychain) and never sent to our servers
- Gemini API includes a free tier that's more than enough for personal use
- To remove your key, tap "Delete" in the same settings section
- Translation, transcription, and recording work without an API key
